VNST is supporting semiconductor workforce development in Vietnam through its technical advisory role with SHTP Training, helping advance practical training capabilities in semiconductor packaging and testing.
Vietnam’s semiconductor ambitions depend not only on investment in technology and infrastructure, but also on developing engineers with the practical skills needed to participate in the global semiconductor supply chain.
A step toward this goal is taking shape at the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Training Center (SHTP Training), where engineers and instructors are preparing an industrial-standard workshop for semiconductor packaging and testing.

Bringing Semiconductor Technology into Hands-On Training
With semiconductor equipment donated by Intel Products Vietnam, SHTP Training is establishing a practical learning environment where students and trainees can gain direct exposure to semiconductor backend processes.
The workshop features equipment used in industrial manufacturing, including multi-zone reflow ovens, chip placement machines, and automated testing systems. Its ISO Class 8 cleanroom environment provides a setting for hands-on training aligned with industrial practices.
Rather than relying solely on classroom instruction, images, or simulations, learners will have opportunities to work with real equipment and gain practical experience in semiconductor packaging and testing.
This approach helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the technical competencies required in semiconductor manufacturing.
VNST’s Role in Semiconductor Workforce Development
As a technical advisor to SHTP Training in semiconductor packaging and testing, VNST contributes industry expertise to support the development of practical training capabilities in Vietnam.
Establishing a semiconductor training workshop requires more than installing equipment. It also involves addressing technical challenges, preparing suitable training environments, and connecting educational activities with real-world industry requirements.
VNST’s involvement reflects its commitment to strengthening Vietnam’s semiconductor backend ecosystem and supporting the development of engineering talent equipped to meet international industry expectations.
The initiative also brings together multiple contributors, including Dai Viet Engineering, Omega EMS, VNST, and Ho Chi Minh City College of Science and Technology (HCST), working alongside SHTP Training to help establish the practical workshop.
Building a Stronger Semiconductor Ecosystem in Vietnam
Semiconductor packaging and testing are essential stages in the chip manufacturing value chain. Developing local expertise in these areas can help strengthen Vietnam’s participation in the global semiconductor industry.
By connecting technical knowledge with hands-on learning, initiatives such as the SHTP Training workshop can help prepare the next generation of semiconductor engineers and technicians.
For VNST, supporting workforce development is part of a broader commitment to advancing semiconductor testing and engineering capabilities in Vietnam. Through collaboration with training institutions and industry partners, VNST aims to contribute to a stronger foundation for the country’s semiconductor backend industry.
